The Retail Pub Test on Relocations

Now I’ve been quiet over the holiday and resumption time but it seems a fair bit of tactical retail genius is rumoured to or maybe done in our township.

The vacant NAB is welcoming a new relocated tenant (Wayne’s World) and the Post Office remains Disability proof .

Being a simple ex retailer one would think any planner who had a essential service (Post Office) beside a FLAT public Carpark with disability access would a logical decision even though I appreciate tenancy’s and leases and outgoings ect and I stupidly have thought City Planners may have had input ,and to be fair May have, BUT I cannot workout the logic …. Or pass the pub test for the oldies.

I cannot speak more highly for the owners and tenants of both businesses involved but my issue is with having a public Carpark right beside a Post Office,I regard as a essential service, with a town with diminishing banking facilities that is easily accessible to all our rate payers seems a no brainer.

Or maybe it’s just me being picky.. or should we ask our town planners or Council Representatives if they had any input?

I fully appreciate keeping the historic building in its original form is more than important and maybe it can be reinvented as part of the conversation, and rightly so as part of a broader discussion.

The question however should be asked..

The Grump..
