Thagoona Online Election Edition #1

Balanced Representation Handicapped

To be upfront I am not endorsing any candidate (yet) in any division but looking at the way the cards have fallen in Ipswich we seem to have testosterone overload.

Before you males blow a few valves it is my belief the electorate especially in Local Government should reflect its ratepayers and balanced views are important and from experiences not all of us see the same picture when it comes to issues of home and environment.

From my public service experience life for me was easy as the blokey culture was rife and the cultures were in-bedded and when a female gained a Mayor or Councillor they were not accepted fully in the inner sanctums in many Councils.

Picking the best qualified candidate is important but keeping the boys club at bey is just as important, especially after what Ipswich Councillors history has revealed in the past.

My numbers are 61% Male to 39% Female nominations at the boxes so balanced representation is handicapped already so if you want a balanced council you need to think where you put your Number 1 on the voting paper.

Cookers in Cloaks

Just a heads up Punters on these upcoming elections.
You will notice in some of the Social Media feeds we are witnessing a distinct trend where a person asks a very simple question and after a answer is supplied by a reader they go into a massive spiel about how things are so bad and they question our democracy process and the electoral process.

When you check the scribe you may well find a stolen identity, or locked-out.
This scam is world wide and rises when elections are taking place by Cookers dreaming up stories trying to disable electors or disconnect electors with lies.

I live in hope none of the candidates would have them on their teams but I could be wrong..

Bottom line don’t go down the rabbit holes they bait for you.. you’re smarter than that ….
