Vale Alwyn Kerle, Master Tradesman.

I suppose when one gets on a bit we all start to realise our own mortality just a little more and as the bits start falling off and we need some panel beating we are jolted when we loose someone or somebody near.

This week I/we lost one of my streets founding fathers and although the average street resident is well above the minimum of 30 years it hits home fast.

Alwyn Kerle and family are Girral Road Royalty, (in my Eye anyway), the Home of HOT ROD HILL , well known by the locals and any visitors with any knowledge of older cars and their maintenance.

Being a former tradesman ,when a person regardless of the trade has a reputation of being a true master, not only by his peers but by the general public who one serves, it cannot go without mention in todays time of throw away cars and society.

Alwyn was a class act, no bullshit from a age where quality repair was handcrafted wth pride to last the life of the vehicle, with originality a key component in his trade ethos.

Not a greatly social person but a person who, if the subject was close, put aside a hour or so to discuss the subject in depth.

Well like old mate I’ll get out of your way, but AL you’ll never be forgotten on Girral, the Father of Hot Rod Hill.

Thank you the Ros and Kerle Family, we’re with ya.
