The Land Leaches Are On the Hunt.

We all know progress is unavoidable and sometimes confronting.
Thagoona now is under the microscope for developers and doing the rounds of the acreage dwellers and small block owners looking for suitable places to subdivide to create higher density housing such as the ever-changing name of the Walloon development.
To be honest ( Yes Filters weren’t invented when Baby Boomers were born) the scouts are after twin block purchases leaving existing dwellings for the time being and developing in behind existing houses and waiting for us to all off the perch or hit Cabanda Community.
As we have all witnessed the quality of the new homes look neat but lets see them when the soil settles over a few decades and i’ll guarantee they will have major defects as is footpath and street movements and cracks appearing now on the first stage subdivisions of the Walloon project.
Yes progress is heading to Thagoona and if you and your neighbours are smart and hold firm you will increase your payday maybe, but remember Thagoona life is special and you won’t get it anywhere else confirmed from those friends who have jumped ship.
Local Retail Advice Lives Locally

Well if you in the game of retail you will know around this time of the year is the “Silly Season” but as your time in the industry lengthens every day is the silly season and the cast is not improving its demeanour.
Let’s put shopping for the foodstuffs and necessities of life aside and discuss the appliance and electrical decisions which will be a higher than normal replacement in the Thagoona power grid.
Thagoona has a less than average power supply known as “Brown”, which in layman’s terms means the supply is not consistent quality of oscillating current. (Goes up and down, surges then Drops away) resulting in your power equipment motors and motherboards have to adjust accordingly to maintain consistent supply, increasing the wear and tear
I do not expect the retail power companies will freely admit the the fact but my advice from professionals within the generating side confirm the fact.
Now the spin the “customer is always right” or the customer knows what their needs and wants is not true BUT a retailer who does not know Your situation will sell you anything you wish without a conscience.
Getting honest advice is hard and harder if you deal with the conglomerates and I too have been burnt with spin from some shiny arse kid who just wants a sale then move on to the next.
Knowing exactly what you need rather than what you want and being advised as such can be rather upsetting for some and having someone who is prepared to listen, advise with local hands on knowledge is rare these days and defiantly not part of the job description since R.T. Edwards ceased trading in Ipswich.
Rosewood still has such a place to trade and although it does not come with the bells and whistles you will get advice from some truly knowledgable women who know their trade backwards. Boughens Electrical has not always told me want I want to hear but my expectations sometime exceed practically and common logic and their advice was imparted free and at times I took the mental uppercut but in my time have never been disappointed with the outcome.
Yes there is a trade off of less variety than the Conglomerates but the overheads are lower too so pricing and convenience and honesty is in my book worth much more than that trip to the rip off merchants.
If we don’t support our local businesses they will disappear, and giving them first bite at a opportunity to serve you I believe not too much to ask and that in turn helps out our little bit of Australia get a little better for our kids to enjoy.
Tech Corner..

Life Experience with NBN.
After 20 years in the Telecommunications Industry I lived the time when our national carrier went private and the evolution of copper to fibre technologies, fixed to mobile networks and data distribution.
The evolution today continues, but the biggest failure was the decision NOT to Roll Out FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) was a monumental failure of any government I can recall.
Having the responsibility to deliver fibre to all hospitals in my SEQ area educated me in then what extent it would have been now in times of our medical delivery culture.
Todays times as we struggle with hospitals and services while the plans were already in motion to keep patients with a kit of monitor-able instrumentation in their homes serviced by mobile medical professionals, all connected by at that time with fibre that had only singular traffic per tube.
Nowadays that traffic has no boundaries and the benefits not only medical could have changed our nation’s entire economy.
Political interest, stopping competition to media outlets strangled our nations growth because increased capacity would be opening us up to the rest of the worlds services at competitive pricing forcing down profit to existing players.
That culture still exists and News that our fibre network will be a priority should make us all happier especially us in county areas.
