Media Called Out
It’s not often the tables are turned and the media is called out for Fake News by a Polly with such punch as below.
Now let’s be clear here, I was not a fan of our Mayor in her former political career as a LNP candidate, and I did not vote for her at the last election but I’m eating crow here as she has soared above the politics and is performing extra well for the Ipswich people. In my view.
What I have seen is she has put aside old alliances, which has upset some of the people including the media and they do not like not having the influence they feel entitled.
This council inherited a shit sandwich from the administrator and baggage that still smells of corruption and old boy network and some of those players who oversaw the bad times still have the pen.
What I have read in all the 3 outlets other than the MB News have decided to campaign against the current mayor in Murdock style journalism.
Our media, the QT Masthead of Ipswich for over a century was stolen and it’s facade today is a embarrassment and disrespectful to its former professional journalistic ethics, and if my expectations of the Scenic Rim may be beyond their capabilities or standards but let’s get one thing straight here, we vote in our elected representatives and it’s not the media’s role to select them for us via stealth by publishing incorrect and slanted propaganda.
It’s important to have a local media outlet one can trust and I am not in a position to declare that , let alone pay for it.

They wonder why people bur up when the people hear words developer or intention change land designations.
It must be part of the job description not to tell the neighbours what is in the pipeline or not to let them know they have the opportunity to have a say to narrow the odds against any submissions or objections.
Nothing could be more evident of that culture is the signage on the development plans near the Seventh Day Church in Rosewood Karrabin road at the cutting where you have to take your life at risk to view the developers intentions and submission closures…
Placed in a impossible unsafe place you risk your life to stop or get out of your car on the 100klm per hour strip to see the sign.
Deliberately placed there by stealth to keep us in the dark, and yes it’s getting to be a trend in Thagoona as it was on Girral and Dances Road timing and placement.
It has been reported and I hope noted but till this morning nothing has occurred to allay the situation , so if that’s the benchmark then it going to be a long war they are starting ..

It’s not often one remembers the Pest Control guy and his wife when you move into a new lifestyle at Thagoona. Such was our experience when we hit here and when I was railroaded into signing up to the Golf Club I knew these people were fair dinkum and that started great times and mates over 40 odd years .
Jim and Ina were part of the furniture at the club and when Ina Passed Jim took it hard as did his family naturally but the club lost a icon.
Jim moved on to multiple adventures but ended up at Cabanda, but for those who are left and remember the Cameron Era where we were entertained by their witty demeanour that made strangers into friends in minutes something many clubs today wish they had on their books.
Thanks Jimbo and Ina us old foxes had a ball.
